Sunshade Blinds is a well-established, family-run business that has been supplying and installing high-quality blinds and awnings across Jersey for over 38 years.

We’re looking for a hardworking, reliable and physically fit individual to join our team. This is a hands-on role involving both the manufacture and installation of blinds, awnings and shading systems, based at our workshop in St John with installation work across the island.

As a small team, flexibility is essential. Some days you’ll be manufacturing products in our workshop, other days you’ll be out installing them, and at quieter times you’ll be helping colleagues, preparing materials, organising the workshop or supporting other areas of the business. We’re looking for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in producing quality workmanship and is always willing to muck in wherever they’re needed.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manufacturing a range of blinds and awnings to a high standard.
  • Cutting fabrics, tubes and components accurately.
  • Assembling products using workshop machinery and hand tools.
  • Installing blinds, awnings, shutters and shading systems.
  • Assisting with servicing and repairs.
  • Helping load and unload vehicles.
  • Assisting colleagues with lifting and installing larger products, particularly awnings.
  • Moving between workshop and installation duties as business needs require.
  • Supporting colleagues and helping wherever needed to keep the business running efficiently.

What We’re Looking For

  • Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual work.
  • Comfortable working at height.
  • Practical and confident using hand and power tools.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Flexible and happy to work in different areas of the business.
  • Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
  • Takes pride in producing high-quality work.
  • Friendly and professional with customers.
  • Holds a full Jersey driving licence.
  • Able to work well both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Experience manufacturing or installing blinds, awnings or shutters.
  • Experience in manufacturing, construction or another practical trade.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • 20 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
  • Annual performance bonus.
  • Full training provided.
  • A varied role between the workshop and customer sites.
  • High-quality tools and equipment.
  • A supportive team environment.
  • Long-term, stable employment with an established local business.
